Meta-Gaming
Using information / knowledge obtained OOC (Out-of-Character) for IC (In-Character) benefit, profit or gain.
This is when you utilise Out-Of-Character information / knowledge for your own benefit or gain In-Character. Even if the information doesn't put you at an advantage, Mixing Out-Of-Character information with In-Character will be considered Meta Gaming. Only use the information / knowledge that you have acquired In-Character. This not only adds to the realism of the experience but it's fair on all players.
This includes but is not limited to information gained from external programs such as: Discord, Twitch Streams, OOC Chat, Steam Chat, TeamSpeak etc.
Examples of Meta-Gaming:
Subject A
goes into Subject B's
Twitch stream and uses this information to figure out their location within the game.
Subject A
who is a Police Officer has been speaking to Subject B
within Discord. There have been discussions about store robberies. Subject A
then uses this information to prepare for store robberies in order to arrest and convict Subject B
